Time to step up to a leadership role? An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Environmental Science Section for a positive minded person with hydrological science qualifications and experience to lead an hydrology team of seven. This team operates within a multidiscipline section undertaking monitoring, research and investigations on various aspects of the environment including the air, land, coastal and water resources. The successful applicant will work alongside the Council’s resource science teams in the provision of timely and accurate information on the state and management of the regions water resources. The main focus of the role is to lead the team of data technicians to ensure accurate measurement of a range of environmental parameters. This includes the field collection, maintenance, monitoring and documentation of environmental data from the Councils region wide network of sites measuring water levels, rainfall and climate data. A regular review of the programmes is required to ensure they meet the needs of the council’s information requirements. A tertiary level qualification in hydrology (minimum) and a at least five years experience is required. Experience in environmental electronics, environmental monitoring, team management and mentoring would be advantageous.
