Blend of Strategic and Project Leadership
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council has its vision, “ a region with a vibrant community ,a prosperous economy, a clean and healthy environment, now and for future generations”.
The establishment of this role is strongly focussed on the strategic development of the region’s water resource to ensure its long term sustainability while meeting the environmental, economic, recreational and cultural aspirations for the region.
Reporting to the Chief Executive the key areas of responsibility encompass, developing a strategic framework and focus for future water management. This comprises investigating and developing options for water harvesting and storage in the region, implementing the Councils’ water information services strategy, synthesising the investment, economic and technical analyses, building strong working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and, leading a small team.
We invite applications from people who offer a blend of skills, attributes and experience which includes;
- highly developed strategic and critical thinking skills
- an in-depth understanding of the agricultural/agri-business sectors
- demonstrated relationship building skills
- a collaborative approach to working across the council
- leadership experience
- a tertiary qualification that supports the requirements of the role such as investment analysis and economic modelling
