Hawke's Bay Regional Council is seeking a suitably qualified, experienced and enthusiastic person to fill this role. The position will be based in Waipawa, Central Hawke’s Bay.
The ideal applicant will have strong affinity with land and rural people, and a good understanding of land-based systems, rural communities and rural businesses. Expertise in a range of land use sectors – including pastoral and intensive land use – is desirable.
The successful applicant will be responsible for encouraging and facilitating sustainable land use practices across a broad range of activities, and aligning environmental performance with economic performance. A positive attitude, strong service skills, and the ability to work alone are highly desirable.
A large part of the job is working collaboratively in groups and one-on-one toward aligning environmental performance with long-term financial viability. The applicant will be able to scope issues, facilitate open dialogue, demonstrate innovation, and implement initiatives within the rural sectors.
