Tukituki Wastewater & Dairying - Public Field Trip


Interested members of the public are welcome on an afternoon field trip to gain first hand knowledge about water quality issues in the Upper Tukituki River, and proposals to remove Waipukurau and Waipawa wastewater from the river. 

Thursday, 2 February 12.15pm – 5.30pm

Bookings essential as free bus provided – 12.15 pm pick up at Havelock North Information Centre or 1 pm on River Road (Shag Rock midway between the Tamumu and Patangata Bridges. Phone HBRC by Monday 30 January, 06 833 8075 (0800 108 838 ext 8075) to register.

Trip is organised by Hawke’s Bay Regional Councillor, Ewan McGregor, with assistance from HBRC and CHB District Council.  Includes visits to Waipukurau oxidation pond, the Regional Council’s new forestry block on Mt Herbert Road, and a CHB dairy farm. There will be presentations from the HB District Health Board and the Regional Council en route.
