Six Standing for Wairoa By-Election

Media Release 5 March 2009 Six Standing for Wairoa By-Election There are six candidates standing in the Wairoa constituency by-election for Hawke’s Bay Regional Council.  The vacancy came after the resignation in January of long serving Wairoa representative, Rex McIntyre.  The candidates are: Shaun Nathan Haraki Harold John O’Grady Joan Patricia Kara Ropiha William Edwin Shortt  Wayne Turi Taylor Fenton David Wilson. The postal by-election will be held next month.  Voting papers will be posted to all Wairoa electors from 2 April, and must be returned by post by midday 24 April.
