Irrigation Bans Back on Ngaruroro River


The rain early this week has not had a lasting impact on the Ngaruroro River.
Irrigation bans that were lifted earlier in the week after a day of steady rain, are now back on takes at the Whanawhana monitoring site and on the low flow limit of 5000 litres/sec at the Fernhill site.  Other low flow limits on the river are on a warning status only.

Current bans
Ngaruroro River at Whanawhaha & Fernhill (5000l/s), Karewarewa Stream, Irongate Stream, Te Waikaha Stream, Maraetotara River at Te Awanga, Puhokio Stream, Waipawa River - SH2 (4000 l/s, 3400 l/s, and 30009l/s), Papanui Stream.

Current warnings
Ngaruroro River at Fernhill (2800 l/s and 2400 l/s), Maraekakaho Stream, Poukawa Stream, Louisa Stream, Raupere Stream, Karamu Stream, Tukipo River, Waipawa River, (2300l/s), Tukituki River at Tapairu Road.
