The tsunami alert remains active.
The second wave is expected to arrive at approximately the following times – Wairoa 12.50pm, Napier 1.15pm, and Southern Hawke’s Bay 1.30pm.
It is expected the wave will be no greater than half a metre and then smaller waves to follow.
Take normal precautions, stay away from low-lying and coastal areas and continue to listen to the radio at key news bulletin times.
Hawke’s Bay Civil Defence Emergency Management Group will keep people updated until the alert is cancelled.
