There’s still time for people to get entries in for the Hawke’s Bay Environmental Awards 2010.
Entries close on 15 July.
The awards have been reshaped this year to have a stronger focus on the achievement of individuals, families, community groups, farmers, lifestylers and schools putting great environmental projects into action.
The awards have traditionally had a lot of support from people with a volunteer’ spirit putting into action planting projects, environmental education programmes, bush and water quality restoration work and smart, sustainable energy projects. It is this support and activity that the awards focus on now, and recognise the volunteer efforts of people in creating a better environment in Hawke’s Bay.
The awards are a joint council initiative by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, Napier City Council and Hastings District Council and entries are open to the whole Hawke’s Bay region.
The Regional Council is also now supporting the Ballance Farm Environment Awards for farmers and horticulturalists with a whole-farm approach to a sustainable business, as well as the “Business Innovation Award” category of the Hawke’s Bay Chamber of Commerce Awards.
The Hawke’s Bay Environmental Award 2010 ceremony will be on 9 October at Lindisfarne College. |
