Hawke’s Bay Regional Council engineers are continuing to monitor river catchments, especially as the forecast is for the persistent rain to continue.
There are no major concerns at this time.
This may change if parts of the region get more intensive rain than has been forecast by NZ MetService.
HBRC provides river level modelling information on its website www.hbrc.govt.nz - look for River Levels under Environmental Data, then click on river sites.
HBRC advises people to check weather forecasts before driving any distance, and watch out for surface flooding, slips, rapidly rising streams and rivers, and to keep up to date with the latest forecasts.
