Hawke's Bay Regional Council publishes a number of policy, planning and financial documents that are essential to the open, accountable operation of the organisation. These are available free to the public by contacting 06 835 9200, 0800 108 838, or emailing info@hbrc.govt.nz.
Council documents include:
- Long Term Council Community Plan - published every 3 years but with a 10 year focus. This is produced first as a Draft for community consultation in April/May.
- Annual Plan - published in intervening years, providing all the financial details of that year and significant differences in plans for both any previous year and the LTCCP. This is produced first as a Draft for community consultation in April/May.
- Annual Report - published each year to account for the way in which Council reaches its targets set in the previous year.
- Governance Statement - provides the public with a guide to the policies and procedures the Council uses to elect Councillors and Chairman, the Committee structure, a code of conduct for Councillors, how meetings will operate and consultation policies, among others.
Within these documents are details of consultation processes as well as reports of the Audit Office.
