Hawke’s Bay Regional Council’s vision for public transport is:
To deliver a public transport system that is safe, increasingly used, integrated with other modes, and contributing to the economic, social and environmental well-being of the people of Hawke’s Bay.
The Regional Public Transport Plan 2011- 2014 aims to:

Keep bus services at the same level for the next 3 years

Provide more bus shelters on the Hastings / Napier route

Encourage more people to use buses and combine that with biking (such as allowing bikes on buses, bike racks at bus stops)

Improve signage, timetables and road markings at bus stops and have wheelchair accessible bus stops

Work within New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) funding constraints
