We support environmental learning through a range of education programmes and resources to develop understanding and commitment to keeping our environment safe for wildlife, plants and us. We also run other education programmes.
RoadSafe Hawke’s Bay run road safety programmes in partnership with New Zealand Police and other local and national groups. They deliver programmes designed to reduce the incidence and severity of road traffic crashes, and engage particularly with youth.

Hi and welcome to the Education Hub at Hawke's Bay Regional Council.
Our aim is to help students develop environmentally responsible attitudes and a commitment to help keep our environment a safe and secure place for future generations.
We offer a variety of environmental education resources. He Taonga te Wai – Water is precious, focussing on Hawke’s Bay waterways, offers six lessons plans you can navigate through self-directed learning. This was released in 2025 and includes a selection of PowerPoints that you can request.
Our regionally-based facilitation team provides support to our Hawke’s Bay Enviroschools and can assist with the delivery of all our resources, whether in the classroom or out in the field to undertake stream studies.
We can provide support and advice on a beach or river clean up, providing health and safety, rubbish bags and gloves. In winter you may be able to join us for tree planting.
