Bus Timetables (including fares and zones)

 Fares and Zones

 

 

1 Zone

  • Napier, Tamatea, Taradale, Taradale Shops and EIT is a one-zone trip
  • Hastings, Havelock North, Flaxmere, EIT and Taradale Shops is a one-zone trip.

2 Zones

  • Napier, Tamatea, Taradale (before Taradale Shops) to Hastings, Havelock North or Flaxmere is a two-zone trip.
  • Hastings, Havelock North, Flaxmere to Taradale (after Taradale Shops), Tamatea or Napier is a two-zone trip

*Children under 5 travel free. The child (5-15) fare is extended to students with ID. High School Student ID required for High School students not wearing school uniform. To be eligible for a concession fare passengers must show the driver a valid Community Services card, Tertiary Student / High School Student ID, or SuperGold card. Passengers without one of these forms of ID will be charged an adult fare (this does not apply to children or High School students wearing school uniform). Correct fare is appreciated as change may not be available for large denomination notes.

General Information

 

Please signal the driver

  • Passengers must wait on the kerb at a bus stop and clearly signal the driver 
  • Passengers are advised to be at the bus stop 5 minutes before the bus is due
  • Times in bold type are actual departure times. All other times are indicative only.

The operator will endevour to run the service according to the timetable, however routes and times are dependent on traffic flow and may vary. 

goBay Smartcards

goBay Smartcards can be purchased from any Go Bus driver for $17 (this includes $10 worth of travel). Cards can be topped up in multiples of $10 ($100 maximum). Refunds cannot be given on lost or damaged cards.

Transfer Fares

Transfer free to any other goBay route (same zone) within 90 minutes of purchase of original ticket. Remember to hold on to your ticket. Free transfers do not apply to return journeys or broken journeys.

Wheelchair Access

All buses in the fleet (with the exception of the express services on Routes 10 and 11) are wheelchair accessible.

SuperGold Cards

SuperGold cardholders travel free between 9am and 3pm on weekdays and anytime on weekend services.

Hospital Patients

If you are travelling from Napier for an appointment at Hawke’s Bay Hospital, you can travel on the bus, free of charge, to and from the Hospital, if you show the driver a valid appointment card, dated for the day of travel.

Weekend Services

Saturday services operate on Routes 12, 13, 14, 20 & 21. Sunday service operates on Route 12 only.

Public Holidays

Services operate on Public Holidays (with the exception of Christmas Day and Good Friday). The Saturday timetable will operate on Public Holidays, unless the Public Holiday falls on a Sunday, at which time the Sunday timetable will operate.

Tickets

You must retain your ticket for inspection purposes - if you cannot produce your ticket, you may be required to purchase another ticket. Your ticket must show the correct time, date and fare.

Right of Refusal

The driver has the right to refuse admission or remove passengers whose conduct is offensive. Playing loud music, smoking and the consumption of foodstuffs & alcohol are strictly prohibited.
