+ Let's Talk Tukituki

Following the public presentation of the Regional Council’s management of the river in Havelock North (12 March 2008), we have posted information here to view.

  • The Council presentation can be viewed.
  • Questions asked before the meeting have answers posted here.
  • Answers to the substantial questions asked at the meeting will be posted as soon as possible

The meeting aimed to inform the public about the range of work the Council does on the Tukituki River in terms of its statutory role, explain where the community is at with improvements, and provide scientific data.   In summary the water quality is good but not brilliant, should be better but not getting worse, measures for improvement are in place, and a multi-management approach is needed.

The meeting was chaired by Hawke's Bay Regional Council Chairman Rex McIntyre, with Chief Executive, Andrew Newman, and some staff present.
