Call the Pollution Hotline 0800 108 838 and tell the Pollution Response Team about it. They are on call 24 hours every day of the year.
What to do
To help the Pollution Response Team stop pollution and assess future risks:
- Ring them as soon as you can on 0800 108 838.
- Please give your name and phone number so you can be contacted if further information is needed (e.g. they can’t find the pollution) and to let you know what happened. Your name remains confidential.
- Describe what you think the pollution is
- Describe where the pollution is
- Describe when you saw/smelt it and whether it has happened before
- Who do you think may be causing the pollution? Have you already talked to them?
- Have you talked to any other agencies e.g. fire service or councils about the pollution?
