Hawke's Bay Regional Council manages the rules and regulations for activities in the Hawke’s Bay marine coastal area, plus several rivers. These do not include Lakes Waikaremoana andWaikareiti which are in Te Urewera National Park and are administered by the Department of Conservation.
The rules are set out in the Hawke's Bay Navigation and Safety Bylaws which also include location specific information and maps for boat access lanes on several beaches.
