Parent material	Water deposit (alluvium) from greywacke and/or sandstone and limestone
Characteristic site and soil features	Active flood plain protected by stopbank; lower in landscape than Pakowhai soil (17) with higher water table after wet periods ; silty or clayey deposit over old buried topsoil of 14, 15 or 19
