The Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Animal Pest Advisory Team is responsible for the day to day management of the Councils Self Help Program, as well as Possums, Rabbits, Rooks and site specific control animals which include Feral Goats, Feral Deer, Feral Pigs, Mustelids, Feral Cats, and Rats.
All these animal pests have a significant adverse effect on the economic and environmental well being of the region. Possums also pose a negative impact on native biological diversity and human health.
