If you see anything unusual at all in our waterways call the Pollution Hotline 0800 108 838 and tell the Pollution Response Team about it. They are on call 24 hours every day of the year.
To help the Pollution Team stop pollution and assess future risks:
- Ring them as soon as you can on 0800 108 838.
- Please give your name and phone number so you can be contacted if further information is needed (eg. they can't find the pollution) and to let you know what happened. Your name remains confidential.
- Describe what you think the pollution is.
- Describe where the pollution is.
- Describe when you saw/smelt it and whether it has happened before.
- Tell them who do you think may be causing the pollution.
- Tell them if you have already talked to them or any other agencies eg. fire service or councils about the pollution?
Contact your local district or city council for things like:
- Blocked drains and surface flooding in town.
- Noise.
- Health concerns such as flies and rodents.
Please contact us should you require further information.
