The Hawke's Bay Regional Council's surface water network consists of automatic river flow recording stations throughout the region.
The information presented here is from seven of our telemetered surface water flow sites. For the surface water sites the information is gathered in the form of river height or stage and converted to actual river flows by the use of a rating curve. Because of the unstable nature of the beds of many of the region's rivers, the rating curves are subject to constant review and updating, particularly after each significant storm event.
Current low flow information relating to consented abstractions is also available from this website.
