Tim Gilbertson
Tim Gilbertson is a farmer at Patangata and has lived in the area for most of his life. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and English.
Tim sees the Regional Council as both an environmental protection agency and regional strategic planner. He believes the Council should focus mainly on those two roles. A long term approach covering the whole region is vital to tie together affordable and sensible plans to deal with all major issues. These include water quality and harvesting, urban planning, regional transport, reafforestation, coastal management and preservation, renewable energy and economic development.
