Rebranded ‘Venture Hawke's Bay,’ in July 2009 the organisation has undergone a transformation which has seen the establishment of three key platforms to add value to its traditional regional functions as an Economic Development Agency (EDA) and a Regional Tourism Organisaiton (RTO).
The organisation will be solely funded by the Hawke's Bay Regional Council however will operate as an autonomous business unit.
The organisation will take a whole of region approach to business and tourism.

Venture Hawke's Bay is organised into three platforms:
Regional Promotion and Marketing
This platform aims to strenghten the regional focus on the role visitors play to the regional economy, and transform Hawke's bay into a year round world class visitor destination.
Investment and Planning
This platform aims to develop a thriving and knowledgeable business community that is well networked, entrepreneurial and has a robust investment spirit. We take a lead to drive inwards investment opportunities in the region and to build sustainable economic development. Investment activity is underpinned by a regional economic reporting capacity that identifies trends, enables sector benchmarking, assists decision making and identifies opportunities for economic development.
Innovation and Productivity
This platform involves two distinct but often related areas of regional growth and development. We work with regional businesses to enhance their productivity capability and to grow and develop new products and services. It is achieved through direct engagement with businesses and by leading regional partnerships to provide direction and support. This includes the facilitation and advice for funding applications, as well as linking businesses to regional and national skills and resources in these fields. The applications of sustainability, design, and supply chain principles are underlying cornerstones.
