Emergency Management Officer - Wairoa (Vacancy 17-871)

The Hawke’s Bay Civil Defence Emergency Management (CDEM) Group has collective responsibility for the delivery of CDEM within Hawke’s Bay.

We are looking for a person with relevant experience and qualifications to work in the Wairoa community, helping them to prepare and then respond to an emergency.  You will need exceptional organisational and community development skills to work with local communities to identify their risks and then find solutions.

You will need strong communication skills with an ability to engage with a variety of audiences and organisations effectively.  You must be willing to provide an appropriate service outside of normal hours when required, be able to work unsupervised, have a clean current driver’s licence and have good computer skills.
