Waitangi Regional Park road access closed

Access to Waitangi Regional Park between the bridges at Awatoto is closed until further notice.

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is currently redeveloping the popular entry point and recreational area inside Waitangi Regional Park.

A new road surface and parking platform being prepared at the park entry is still under construction.

Due to construction issues with the natural materials, reopening the access is currently not an option.

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council expects to re-open the access road in 3-4 weeks’ time.
