Hawke’s Bay Navigation Safety Bylaw 2017 Consultation

Keep your boating speed down

The draft of the Hawke’s Bay Navigation Safety Bylaw 2017 has been approved by Council and Maritime NZ for final consultation. 

This is the final opportunity to make submissions.

The Bylaw covers

  • The use of lifejackets, identification of vessels, navigation signals, safety around wharves and ramps and introduces the registration of jetskis.
  • Operating requirements such as speed of vessels, access lanes and dive operations
  • Shipping and hazardous cargoes
  • Licensing of hire vessels

Submissions can be made until Tuesday 31 October 2017 online here, or post to Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, Private Bag 6006, Napier 4142, Attn: Harbourmaster.
