Farming is both the problem and the solution to much of our climate crisis. It would be great to hear more about how agriculture and farming is being supported to switch (ASAP) to regenerative farming practices that specifically focus on building soil organic matter and putting carbon back into the soil, whether by practicing longer grazing rotations or planting cover crops. We need the council to support low tech, cheap and easy solutions now, this is a crisis after all. Practicing farms needs to be monitored, measured and rewarded (somehow!) and as consumers we need to buy their produce!
I might only be 14 but I am doing my best to help with climate change most my cloths are second hand.my family and I put all our food scraps in a compost bin.Do what you can, small stuff like that can help.
I believe we all have something to do, even if it is small, like using your own cup for your morning coffee, or taking your own containers for your take away, refilling instead of buying, composting, saving energy and water at home. Even tho, we don't pay for water, it is precious and there are places and people in the world without it. Also, when buying stuff, use the 6 R's (Rethink, Refuse, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Repair). It takes time and effort to get used to, but it is worth it. We all can do this!
I think educating our children about how to live sustainably is so important. They will have to know how to live with less resources in the future.
Sometimes climate change feels overwhelming and it's hard to know what to do. Do other people feel like that?
I try to buy second hand op shop clothes where possible as I've read that fast fashion has a massive impact on climate change.
I didn't realise food waste was such a huge problem. I will be buying a composting bin for my kitchen to avoid all the food scraps and leftovers I currently put in the bin.
