About the Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of our Farm Environmental Management Plan (FEMP) project work. This role sits within our Integrated Catchment Management Group which acts as HBRC’s primary vehicle for the delivery of beyond-regulatory activities within our region’s catchments. FEMPs are a key part of  ensuring the successful implementation of national and regional policies through  the provision of leadership, guidance, and advice to our catchment communities.

The role of FEMP Project Manager will require you to drive the project to achieve successful outcomes by applying a high level of organisation, accountability and exceptional communication skills. You will also provide sound professional and technical guidance to both internal and external stakeholders. Whilst we don’t need you to be an expert in the area of farm plans, knowledge and understanding of the farming industry and environmental issues would be an advantage.

The key objectives of the role are:

  • Ensure the development of quality farm plans that align with the relevant sub catchment issues throughout the Hawkes Bay region.Provide effective project reporting, information flow and communication with various stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Establish, maintain and document an audit and accreditation process for both new and existing FEMP providers.
  • Actively participate in local, regional or national working groups or advisory groups, acting as a representative for HBRC and driving the future direction of FEMPs.
  • Ensure that regular and timely updates are provided to our plan providers and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Coordinate regular meetings and training workshops to meet the needs of the various providers.

 Ideally you will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • A Relevant Bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • At least 5 years project management knowledge and experience, particularly in relation to managing quality outcomes.
  • Excellent stakeholder relationship management, facilitation and networking skills with a strong ability to influence and provide advice.
  • Proven ability to coordinate tasks and work programmes across a variety of teams and professional disciplines (including technical subject matter experts).
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and work within budgets.
  • Advanced Nutrient Management Certificate and some familiarity with GIS is desirable.

The salary range for this role will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
