The successful candidate will have knowledge of sourcing, procurement techniques and vendor management, with evidence of previous large-scale, effective procurement. Initially responsible for job timetabling and demand management sourcing plants materials and labour to support the erosion control programme, this role will manage and coordinate the procurement processes and the external suppliers.

This role will require a close working relationship with the three Integrated Catchment Management teams and the Farm Environmental Management Planning (FEMP) coordinator, to improve water quality, through sediment reduction, stock exclusion, afforestation and riparian planting. There is an opportunity to develop a council wide procurement and contract management function, developing, leading and executing purchasing strategies to support Hawke’s Bay Regional Councils’ programmes. This will include the development and delivery of reporting analysis, to monitor and forecast upcoming demand for strategic procurement purposes.
