East Coast Life at the boundary (ECLAB) is a multi-agency education project covering East Cape to the Cook Strait, and focused on building community resilience by communicating a better understanding of the east coast plate boundary hazards.
Hawke’s Bay Regional Council Civil Defence and Emergency Management Group in collaboration with East Coast Life at the boundary (ECLAB) are looking for an Education Coordinator to play a key part in the development and delivery of curriculum based educational programmes and resources.
About the opportunity:
Based in Napier this, two year fixed term position will report to the Team Leader Hazard Reduction. The ECLAB Education Coordinator will share the latest leading hazard research on earthquakes, tsunami, volcanic and coastal hazards with diverse communities across the East Coast.
The role will work in conjunction with the ECLAB Project Leader and other Emergency Management Advisors to manage and support local hazard education initiatives across Gisborne, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu-Wanganui and Wellington Regions.
The salary range for this position is $63,360 - $71,808 depending on experience.
Travel through East Coast region will be required at least monthly, you will need to be comfortable being away from home for up to one week each time. The role is full-time, but flexible part-time hours could be considered for the right candidate.
