Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management and education; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. Supporting approximately 160,000 residents, Council's vision is to enable a healthy environment, a vibrant community and a prosperous economy.  

About the opportunity:

The Regional Assets team are looking for a Ranger to provide monitoring and reporting of public access to rivers, regional parks, river mouth openings, pathways and gravel operations. The role will report to the Team Leader Schemes and will be required to be on call or work rostered hours including weekends and public holidays. The successful candidate play an important role for Regional Council by ensuring our regional assets are well monitored, maintained and safe for public use.

The salary range for this role is $63,360 - $71,808 depending on qualifications and experience.

About you:

You will have great relationship building skills and enjoy working in a team environment. You will be flexible and willing to respond to after hour call outs.

You will have:

• A good understanding of Hawke’s Bay rivers and drainage networks.
• An understanding of the regional resource management plan.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• High level of Microsoft office and computer skills.
• A clean full driver’s licence. 
• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
