Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management and education; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. Supporting approximately 160,000 residents, Council's vision is to enable a healthy environment, a vibrant community and a prosperous economy.  

About the opportunity:

The People and Capability team are looking for an Advisor People Solutions to support the business and provide expert ER & HR advice. As part of the Office of the Chief Executive and Chair, the role will report to the People and Capability Manager and work alongside a team of three. This is a newly created generalist role that will take the lead with the People Solutions portfolio. Alongside the ER service, you will have the opportunity to assist in the development of a people and capability strategy, play an active part in change management processes and build strong relationships across the business.  

The salary range for this role is $74,790 - $84,762 depending on qualifications and experience.

About you:

You will have at least 3 years’ experience as an HR/ER Advisor or Business Partner with great working knowledge of HR Compliance, Employment Relations, Collective Bargaining and Performance Management.

You will have:

• A tertiary degree in HR or related field, preferably a post graduate qualification.
• Practical experience of HR issues and legislation.
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• High level of Microsoft office and computer skills.
• A clean full driver’s licence. 
• Have the legal right to work in New Zealand.
