The Hawke's Bay Regional Council is responsible for the regions strategic planning, infrastructure, services, and natural resource management ensuring that the Region and environment is managed effectively for current and future generations. Because of continued growth within the Health & Safety team, they are currently recruiting for an experienced Advisor to help create and drive initiatives that promote improvement and innovation within council.

As the Senior Health & Safety Advisor, you will be responsible for coordinating training programmes for team members, create/uphold/monitor H&S standards within the departments, manage any compliance/injury investigations, and perform H&S audits to confirm policies & procedures meet legal requirement. You will play an integral part in maintaining H&S programmes and plans for the organisation. This is a chance to use your expertise to ensure operations runs smoothly and safely.

We are interested in candidates that have:

  • 3+ years’ experience in a Health & Safety Advisor position
  • History of creating H&S plans and policies for an organisation
  • Excellent communication and conflict management skills
  • A strong work ethic and the ability to work well under pressure
