Team Leader Hydrology/Hydrogeology

047

Hawke's Bay Regional Council (HBRC) is the regional authority for the Hawke's Bay region in New Zealand with key roles in environmental management; flood control, drainage, pollution, waste, land, water and coastal management. Supporting approximately 160,000 residents, Council's vision is to enable a healthy environment, vibrant communities and a prosperous economy.

Hawke’s Bay is one of New Zealand’s warmest, driest regions and this has made it one of the country’s leading producers of wine and delicious fruit. As well as being a popular stop on numerous NZ wine tours, Hawke's Bay is also known as an art deco city, having been rebuilt after the 1931 earthquake.

There is also an extensive network of high quality off-road recreational walkways and cycleways to suit all fitness levels, boutique artisan food stores, and a variety of museums and galleries. The Kaweka Ranges and many forest parks provide fun opportunities including tramping, fishing, mountain biking, hunting, rafting, kayaking and more.

With glorious beaches and a family-friendly community, the Hawke's Bay region is as welcoming as it is unique, with universal appeal for people from all walks and stages of life

The Hawke’s Bay economy was thriving prior to Covid-19 lockdown and is one of the country’s best positioned regions for recovery. Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is resourced for significant environmental projects including a multi-million dollar regional water security programme.
