Organisational Change Manager (12month fixed term)

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council is looking for a self-motivated and influential individual to join our team as an Organisational Change Manager. This role reports into the Marketing Communications Manager and will have an initial focus on the Corporate Services Group, supporting change in an area that has experienced significant growth in size and complexity over the past few years. The role will lead change initiatives, enabling the successful delivery and implementation of change while ensuring employee consideration and engagement occurs throughout the process. This a fixed term role for 12 months. 

 

About the Opportunity:

 The key objectives of the role are to:

  • Ensure a holistic view of multiple organisational improvement projects are achieved across multiple functions
  • Take a leading role in project teams and steering groups by working closely with the organisation’s project managers focusing on corporate projects
  • Positively promote organisational change at all stages of the process while providing relevant advice and guidance throughout.
  • Appropriately engage stakeholders to influence both cultural and behavioural changes in the organisation
  • Design and implement success measures to monitor and review change progress

 

About you:

 The successful candidate will ideally possess and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • Have at least 10 years’ experience in project and/ or change management
  • Possess strong leadership qualities and organizational skills with a proven ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and assignments
  • Have strong process orientation and a solid understanding of organisational change management principles, methodologies, tools, and best practices
  • Must have demonstrated, and be prepared to exhibit, extensive initiative and ownership of project success
  • Proven experience with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; in particular, demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to multiple organisational levels both internally and externally

The salary range for this role will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
