Public Notice - East Clive Beach Meeting
A community meeting will be held for Clive people and beach users to talk with HBRC about vehicles and dogs on East Clive Beach.
Tuesday 8 November 2016, 7.00pm
Clive Community Hall, Main Road, Clive
This meeting is an opportunity to talk over the issues and provide input into the management and ecological well-being of the regional park.
The East Clive Beach area of Waitangi Regional Park (between Clive and Tukituki river mouths) has been recognised by wildlife experts and local people as a sensitive ecological area, that needs to be appropriately protected while allowing people access for recreation.
Hawke’s Bay Regional Councillors will attend. HBRC staff can explain the current and intended management for this park which allows people to fish off the beach but restricts vehicle access and allows dogs within the park but on the lead to protect wildlife. Department of Conservation staff will also speak about the specific wildlife values of the beach and wetland.
