Ngaruroro After Flooding 2010

Temporary Speed Uplifting – Ngaruroro River


In accordance with the Navigation Safety Bylaws 2012 - Clause 3.9, speed restrictions in Area E & F Chesterhope Bridge to Waitangi Basin as described in Schedule S2.3 are uplifted, for a river inspection by Hawke’s Bay Regional Council staff and the TANK Group:

9.00am to 4.00pm, Sunday 20 November 2016

Speed restrictions are temporarily uplifted for a group of jet boats to transit between the Chesterhope road bridge and the coast at Waitangi at speeds in excess of the 5 knot restriction within 200m of the shore. For safety reasons the race area is closed to all unauthorised water craft, net or line fishing, swimming or any other water activity likely to interfere with the inspection, except as directed by the Harbourmaster.
