Weed Control – Rivers, Streams and Drainage

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council advises that agrichemical spraying for weed control will take place in rivers, streams, drainage systems and Hawke’s Bay cycle trails during the period 1 September 2017 – 30 June 2018 (starting 1 October in Wairoa). 

HBRC’s approved operators will be carrying out the annual spray maintenance programme for flood protection purposes, subject to weather conditions. 

All chemicals used are approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for use around waterways.

Notifications as follows -

HBToday - Rivers & Streams – Heretaunga Plains,  River & Streams – Central Hawke’s Bay, Drains,   Limestone Pathways (Hawke’s Bay Cycle Trails)         

CHB Mail - River & Streams – Central Hawke’s Bay, Limestone Pathways - Waipukurau (CHB cycle trails)

Wairoa Star - Wairoa Streams and Drains.
