Bug Box proved a winner

The bug box in the Cape to City Enviro Shed at Hawke’s Bay Showgrounds during the Royal A&P Show received dozens of entries in the Cape to City quiz.

Four correct entries were drawn and have been sent their Explorer Pack prizes, including binoculars, compass, magnifying glass, plant seeds, jelly beans, drink bottle and backpack. They were Elise d’Arbois, Sabine Toomer, Chaelyn Dillon-Jarvis and Harrison Smart.

Drew Broadley, Communications Manager at Hawke’s Bay Regional Council said the water-themed exhibit this year was a great space for children with sights and sounds for them to enjoy. Especially up and close encounters with wetas, lizards and pest traps.

The Cape to City project is a five-year partnership between Hawke’s Bay Regional Council, the Department of Conservation, Cape Sanctuary, Landcare Research and the Aotearoa Foundation. It’s focus is to help “native species thrive where we live, work and play.”
