Applying for an urgent consent for damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle

We understand that there will be an urgent need to carry out some works directly related to damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle. This might include, for example, repair or replacement of damaged culverts or other access structures. This simplified application form is for use in these circumstances. Section 330 of the RMA exceptions

Some authorised organisations (including Councils, Waka Kotahi, Port of Napier, Unison etc) can undertake emergency works under s330 of the RMA. This means they can go ahead and start doing work that would normally need consent. They must notify HBRC within 7 days of starting this work and then, if the effects of the activity will carry on, need to apply for the required consents within 20 working days.  They can notify us about this work by emailing consentadvisor@hbrc.govt.nz.
