Riparian Planting Programme

Hawke’s Bay Regional Council has a selection of native plants for sale. These have been sourced specifically for riparian planting of fenced off waterways on farms. We will have a limited number of plants available for the 2019 planting season. There is a minimum order for 100 plants (unless discussed with the Land Management Advisor).

Plant orders are now closed for the season.

Plant Pick-Up:

Plants will be available for pick-up in the second week of June at our Napier, Waipukurau and Wairoa depots.

Planting Guide:

A detailed riparian planting guide is available online here or by contacting a the Regional Council land management advisor. It contains advice about siting, planting and management of plants for local conditions.

Plant Supply:

Priority will be given for plant orders in the Tukituki catchment. All other orders are on a first in, first served basis. All plants are PB3 grade (1.5l pot) or equivalent.

Plant Storage:

Ensure the planting site is fenced and prepared prior to collection. If you are not planting straight away, make sure you have a suitable place to store them out of direct sunlight and water plants regularly.
