Responding to and slowing down climate change are going to require actions from all elements of society: governance, industry, community and individuals.

Join us to take action to slow the effects of climate change.

Whether you’d simply like to learn more, understand what lifestyle choices you can make to reduce your impact or, if you’re a business, farmer or grower looking to undertake climate change initiatives, we have a few suggestions that can help you on your journey.

There is plenty we can all do to help reduce our carbon footprint. 

The Future Fit tool gives you an idea of the impact of your lifestyle on our planet, and you can see how your everyday actions can make a difference. Take 5 minutes to get a snapshot of your footprint or stay longer to choose new actions, challenge friends, track and share your progress to become Future Fit.

Learn how to reduce your carbon emissions and get Future Fit

Learn how to live a lower carbon lifestyle – better for our climate, your wellbeing and your pocket. Check out the Genless website for tips here.

Education, information and a range of services to support a sustainable Hawke’s Bay, including specialist recycling and zero waste event management with the HB Environment Centre.

Find great ways to make your home warm, dry, and healthier and keep your power bills down on the GenLess website.

Get a healthy home – get help with funding for clean heating, insulation, solar power, double glazing, water storage and septic tanks. Our Sustainable Homes programme helps with funding and grants to help make your home a healthy and efficient place to live.

Get involved in community planting days, beach and river clean ups, and many other initiatives. We can all play a part in helping make Hawke’s Bay a healthier, more climate resilient place to live.
