On this page you will find all details and documents related to the TANK decision and associated appeals.
The TANK Plan is currently subject to an Environment Court appeal process with 16 appellants (person or group making an appeal) submitting appeals against the TANK Plan decision, and 18 parties registering their special interest to proceedings (known as a Section 274 party).
The Environment Court process to resolve these appeals is currently underway. Mediation was undertaken from 2023 to 2025 and we are now preparing for the Environment Court hearing.
The rules in the TANK Plan change took immediate legal effect upon notification on 2 May 2020.
The rules in the consent order version of the TANK Plan change, issued 29 April 2026, are now the rules with legal effect
These rules now supersede the rules in the notified version of the TANK Plan change and the decision version of the TANK Plan change.
Until the TANK Plan change rules are operative, both the TANK Plan change rules and the operative Regional Resource Management Plan (RRMP) apply. The more stringent activity status of the two relevant rules apply.
The Independent Hearing Panel made their decision on the submissions received on Proposed Plan Change 9. The decision was notified on 9 September 2022.
