Strategy & Performance Team Leader

As the Strategy and Performance Team Leader, you will work closely with the Council and our Executive Team to set the organisational strategic direction, monitor and report on organisational strategy, and manage Council's legislative corporate planning and reporting processes.  We are looking for someone who is an influential leader with the capability to manage three direct reports and build meaningful relationships across the organisation.

 About the Opportunity:

 The key objectives of the role are to:

  • Lead the corporate planning processes for Council
  • Present meaningful business intelligence on strategy execution and organisational performance
  • Oversee HBRC’s project management framework to encourage its use, build capability and provide assurance for governors and managers. 
  • Provide effective coaching and guidance to direct reports
  • Establish relationships with all internal and, where required, external stakeholders involved in a specific programme or project
  • Deliver and maintain a work programme for the organisation, where recommendations are aligned to identified objectives, needs and requirements
  • Develop and implement strategic objectives and plans

 About you:

 The successful candidate will ideally possess and demonstrate the following competencies:

  • Proven strategy development and execution, corporate planning, or public policy experience along with a relevant tertiary qualification.
  • A sharp analytical mind and understanding of the political environment in which decisions are made.
  • Proven leadership capabilities and an ability to adapt your leadership style to suit particular group needs.
  • Most importantly, knowledge of how to navigate the ever-changing landscape of local government.

The salary range for this role will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
