Elections 2016 - Candidate Info

LGNZ Vote 2016 CMYK Orange Black Webversion

Do you think your skills and perspective could be useful in making decisions for the future of Hawke’s Bay? We'd like you to consider standing for the regional council in the upcoming local elections. What you need most to be an elected member (apart from being a New Zealand citizen and enrolled on the NZ electoral roll) is a willingness to participate and a commitment to serve your local community.

Nominations are open 15 July to 12 August 2016.  Click here to go to Our Elections page  where you will find the Candidate Information book and HBRC's pre-election report.

Potential candidates can contact our Electoral Officer, Leeanne Hooper, 06 833 8017, leeanne@hbrc.govt.nz to get advice and information.  HBRC is not holding candidate meetings, as past candidates have found one-on-one meetings more useful.

We will add more information and candidates profiles as these are provided. Voting papers will be in the post from 21 September.  Polling day is 8 October2016.
