Catchment Worker


About the Opportunity:

The Hawkes Bay Regional Council (HBRC) Works Group has an exciting opportunity for a Catchment Worker who has experience in tree felling to join our team. This is a fulltime, permanent position and will be based at our Waipukurau site in Central Hawke’s Bay.  This role will suit someone who enjoys working in the outdoors, is physically fit, has a commitment to safe work practices, and wants to work in a positive team environment. 

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have a clean current Class 1 drivers license and have experience in manual tree felling. A current Growsafe certification and NZQA Level 3 Tree Felling and Clearing (non-production) is preferable but not essential.

Alongside this, you will:

  • Be an experienced chainsaw operator and tree feller
  • Have experience in spraying and general construction works
  • Be competent in the use of a 4WD vehicle
  • Have good documentation and communication skills
  • Demonstrate safe work practices, have a positive attitude toward health and safety in the workplace and be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment.

Remuneration will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

A pre-employment medical and drug test will be a requirement for the successful applicant.
