About the Opportunity:

The Consents team provide guidance and advice on resource consenting matters to stakeholders including the community, tangata whenua, resource consent applicants, resource consent holders, interested or affected parties and to internal HBRC staff. They also play a vital part in establishing and applying procedures for receiving, processing and managing resource consents.

HBRC is seeking enthusiastic and motivated Consents Planners or a Senior Consents Planner to join our growing consents team. Reporting to the Team Leader Consents you will be an integral member of our consents planning team, working alongside others to process resource consents that are submitted. You will be a solution focused individual with a drive to support, engage and educate the Hawke’s Bay community. The role will see you assessing resource consent applications in accordance with parameters of the RMA and relevant Regional plans and policies, enabling you to make informed decisions on how to best respond and process each application.

 

About you:

You will be someone who consistently produces quality work that you take pride in and enjoy being an active member of the team.

Ideally you will also have:

  • A tertiary qualification in planning or resource management
  • Knowledge in forestry, farm systems, surface and/or ground water resources would be an advantage.
  • A positive and proactive approach with a commitment to the continuous improvement
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and good relationship management skills

We would also consider a recent graduate and will provide opportunity to learn and develop on the job for the consents planner role.

The salary range for the Consents Planner  role will be between $70,041 and $77,823 dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. The Salary range for the Senior Consents Planner role will be between $82,518 and $91,687 dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
