About the Opportunity:

Our Regional Assets team is looking for a Graduate Engineer who is proactive, solutions-focused and has a passion for our environment. This is an exciting opportunity to get into the engineering space with Council and will expose you to a wide range of activities including: flood control and drainage infrastructure design, stopbank earthwork modelling and design, gravel resource allocation management, and engineering consenting advice.

You will be part of a team working in a fast paced and diverse environment. We have a large portfolio of work and some big projects to achieve in the next few years within the Hawke’s Bay region. There will be plenty of coaching and support to grow your skills and knowledge under the guidance of your peers and leaders.

 

About you:

You will be able to remain calm under pressure, pick up systems with ease, and able to juggle multiple tasks on the go.  You will also be a great communicator who gets along with a wide variety of people from a diverse range of backgrounds.

In addition to the above you will also:

  • Have a relevant tertiary qualification in river or coastal processes/engineering/hydrology.
  • Be a self-motivated, hands-on, and energetic person with a ‘can do’ attitude.
  • Be a team player who is open to positively contributing to our team
  • Have an interest in learning and developing new skills

The salary range for this role is between $66,060 to $73,400 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
