Relationships Manager: Southern Hawkes Bay

About the Opportunity:

Our Māori Partnerships team is on the lookout for a Relationship Manager to build and maintain relationships with our key stakeholders in our Southern Rohe of Te Matau a Māui including Hastings and Central District Council, tangata whenua, mana whenua, Central and Local Government and the wider community. We need someone who will lead, guide and support Council to be renown for the quality and quantum of productive relationships, in particular with tangata whenua.

You will be a charismatic, motivated individual who connects to our organisation’s vision and purpose and can live the values of Hawke’s Bay Regional Council. This vital role will see you acting as a mentor, coach and role model to Council staff, advising on building tangata whenua and broader community confidence and trust in Council. The relationships you develop and maintain will be with our critical partners and connected to our shared environmental, biodiversity, marine/coastal and climate change outcomes. You will be the recognised ‘go-to’ person for your area to introduce and support partnering with tangata whenua.

 

About you:

You will have outstanding interpersonal communication skills and the confidence and knowledge to go out to our community and build effective, positive relationships with key stakeholders. A level of proficiency or willingness to acquire Te Reo Māori me ōna tikanga would be advantageous.

In addition to the above you will also have:

  • A relevant bachelor’s degree or equivalent tertiary qualification, preferably a post grad qualification.
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in a middle management or senior manager role in the public or private sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to easily develop and foster critical relationships with a diverse range of partners and stakeholders.
  • The ability to initiate and engage effectively at all levels, internally and externally, with strong engagement and facilitation skills

The salary range for this role is between $108,090 and $120,100 depending on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
