About the Opportunity:

The Hawkes Bay Regional Council (HBRC) Works Group has an exciting opportunity for a Catchment Worker/Tree Faller to join our team. This is a fulltime, permanent position and will be based at our Waipukurau site in Central Hawke’s Bay.  This role will suit someone who has previously worked in the forestry sector and is looking for a new challenge, enjoys working in the outdoors, is physically fit, and is committed to safe work practices.

 

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have a clean current Class 1 drivers license and ideally will have achieved NZQA Level 3 Tree Felling and Clearing (non-production). A current Growsafe certification is also preferable but not essential.

Alongside this, you will:

  • Be a multi-skilled individual who is a competent chainsaw operator.
  • Have proven experience in tree falling operations and herbicide application.
  • Have solid documentation and communication skills.   
  • Demonstrate safe work practices, have a positive attitude toward health and safety in the workplace and be comfortable working both independently and in a team environment

The hourly rate for this role will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
