Our Environmental Information team is a critical function of Council, gathering information to help us better understand any changes to the health of local freshwater and coastal ecosystems. The data is used to help identify the main threats to humans, animals, or life in the water and offers a diverse and interesting workload. We need a Resource Technician – Water Quality and Ecology to join our team for 6 months to cover for parental leave.

This position would suit a highly motivated and technically minded individual, with a passion for the freshwater and marine environment who is keen to apply their skills in a varied and primarily field-based role. The successful candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification, a full NZ drivers licence and a willingness to work alone in the field, plus lots of confidence with water.

The salary range for this role is between $68,040 to $75,600 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.
